Zoom Support Groups
If you would like more information on accessing any of the following Zoom groups, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01792 642999 or 07342 925999/07340 713679.
Anxiety and Depression Groups
These are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11am. These are facilitated by our volunteers and run in way where each person takes the opportunity to share their concerns and hear advice and support from their peers. During the current health crisis, it can be particularly reassuring to discuss mutual feelings, and develop practical coping techniques together.
Peer Support Groups
These are held on Mondays and Fridays at 2pm. Our Peer Support sessions are a relaxed, informal space where people can socialise, share information and gain support from peers. Our aim with these groups is to provide a space that brings people with similar experiences together, allowing them to feel accepted and understood in a place they can be uniquely themselves.
Due to the current health crisis, these Zoom sessions offer a great opportunity to socialise, whilst maintaining safe boundaries and adhering to government advice. These groups are facilitated each week by our team of volunteers.
Guided Mindfulness Sessions
These are held on Thursdays at 11am. Mindfulness is a widely used technique to help people cope better with the stresses of daily life, through learning to relax and be more present. The theory behind mindfulness relaxation is that we often spend too much time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, that our thoughts often lead us to periods of depression or anxiety. Mindfulness is about learning useful tools that help to bring focus back to the present moment and help us enjoy day-to-day living a little more.
These guided Zoom sessions cover a variety of techniques, such as:
– Guided meditation
– Body scans
– Breathing techniques
– Coping strategies for everyday stressors and anxiety
